This was more than just an ALBUM!

Eric Boehm was a loyal friend and mentor – who was turning a very sharp 95 – and in this case, the medium was far more than just the message.

What’s below is a modular, predictable format for a 25-image “set,” that can easily turn into an easily navigable 50 or 75 . . . or 175 . . . and the format explores the use of “audio captions.”

This example will go full screen!

The man, the project, and the composite proceeds . . . have all become a treasure.

What happened here was a happy collaboration ~ a project born out of the confluence of two very different but related disciplines. The Boehm Group was aimed at mostly Analog Biographies, and we were aimed at mostly Digital Storytelling.

The subject was a master storyteller ~ with a beguiling accent, style, and wit ~ and with plenty of stories to tell ~ from helping to dismantle the Luftwaffe after WWII to developing one of the first international “databases” on the planet to founding ABC-Clio, and later The Boehm Group, this man was one of a kind at any age. We were privileged to capture 25 riveting “Show & Tell” stories ~ all voice-captioned by the irrepressible, irreverent inventor, educator, & inveterate entrepreneur.

We were thrilled to work with Eric’s Grandson, Jeff – who did the on-site soundtrack – in building a project aimed at doing two things – providing a consistent FORMAT that could put images into linear SETS of 25 – in which the Main Menu would trigger any of 25 pages – image enlargements – and validating the concept of using “Voice Captioning” in digital albums.

The “25” format was completed as above for Eric’s 95th • and Voice Captioning began. Note that the same 25-slide format was used for the Wright Example ~ also in the ALBUM set. Click Here! The main advantage being that by targeting a project in 25-slide sets (whether one set or ten sets) ~ the work involved in gathering, treating, and organizing the content becomes more predictable.

Tell us what you think ~ but check some of the other Album examples, too!
